👷Setting Scan Parameters

The next phase is the scanner setup, where the user sets up the parameters of the laser scanner. Most importantly, users must understand the concept of resolution and quality. Resolution determines the density of data collected. Quality determines the precision of that data. The resolution and quality settings also affect the time the scans take to complete and process.

Two scans need to be taken to complete the scanning activity. The scanner can be placed anywhere within the environment. The scans can be run once the resolution and quality settings are chosen. The first scan will succeed if the scanner has at least three targets in sight. For the second scan to be successful, there should be at least three targets in the line of sight with the scanner and three in common with the first scan.
