The overall project encompassed developing an understanding of the knowledge transfer problem space, identification of stakeholder needs, development of an initial 2D prototype, validation of the effectiveness of digital prototypes in scanner training, design of a 3D virtual industrial environment, development of a 3D target placement simulation, integration of a 3D virtual scanner, and development of a system to replicate actual scanning of the virtual environment.
